University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh D3 Football Team Nearly Clinches Title

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh football team, which inspired Richard's play, The Boy Inside, became the national Division 3 football runner up when it made it to the championship game on December 16, 2016 and lost by three points to heralded opponent Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas). This marks the first time ever (approx. 100 years) that the UW-Oshkosh Titan football team has reached the national title game. There are 240+ Division 3 football teams in the United States.
The Boy Inside examines both the appeal of football and the implicit and explicit dangers of this violent but culturally deeply ingrained sport.
