Front Room in Kosovo

Letter from Butrint Pasha , Director of FRONT ROOM in Pristina, Kosovo in late 2022.

Regarding FRONT ROOM by Richard Kalinoski:

“…I was amazed by the originality of the work…the combination of Abby’s (the elderly mother of the main character in the play) condition—a biting sense of humor stemming from underlying despair.”

“As a master of the ‘show,  don’t tell’ rule, Mr. Kalinoski skillfully paved the way for the dramatic story line where Abby’s character was running out of time in the world.”

“The main highlights of our show were two substantial questions for the life of every human being: how much do we owe to our parents and how much do parents have the right to determine the lives of our children?”

Additional note:

Front Room was translated from English to Albanian (the dominant language in the Republic of Kosovo) and was directed by Butrint Pasha who had previously directed Mr. Kalinoski’s play, Beast on the Moon at the National Theatre of Kosovo.  Front Room was staged at Teatri Dodana, a prominent theatre venue in Pristina.
